TVC vs Digital Ad Film: Cost and Timeline in Delhi NCR
By Lokesh Yadav · 13 October 2026
Brands in Delhi NCR often ask whether they need a TVC or a digital ad film. The answer depends on where your audience watches, how much you want to spend and how fast you need to launch. Here is how the two compare.
What Is a TVC?
A TVC, or television commercial, is an advertisement made for broadcast and connected TV. It is usually 10 to 60 seconds long, delivered to the broadcaster's technical specification and planned tightly, because every second of airtime is paid for. Most TVCs involve a script, storyboard, casting, art direction and a full crew.
What Is a Digital Ad Film?
A digital ad film is made for platforms such as YouTube, Meta, Reels and Shorts. It is usually shorter, framed for mobile, and often produced as several variations so you can test different hooks against each other. The production can be leaner than a TVC, but the creative still has to earn attention in the first few seconds.

How Long Does It Take?
The timeline follows the stages of production: brief and concept, pre-production (casting, locations and permissions), shoot, post-production and delivery. Simple digital ads can be delivered in about one to two weeks. Full TVCs take longer because of casting, approvals and finishing to broadcast specification. What Can Slow a Project Down
- Late sign-off on the script or storyboard
- Casting and location approvals
- Several rounds of revisions arriving separately
- Music or usage-rights clearances
Which Should You Choose?
- Reaching a broad audience through TV or connected TV: a TVC
- Running performance campaigns on Meta and YouTube: a digital ad film
- Launching a product on a tight timeline: a digital ad film, with a TVC to follow if the campaign works
- Wanting both: plan one shoot that produces a hero film and a set of cut-downs
Many brands get the best value from a single shoot day planned for both outputs, rather than commissioning a TVC and a digital campaign separately.
